Why trace the world of shapes in just Eugene??? Bikes, beer, and Bend? It just makes sense! This Thursday marks the inaugural Bend chapter’s Bike in Shapes ride. The philosophy and schedule will stay the same as our lovely Eugene chapter: once a month we meet, ride a shape, and meet afterwards at a pub or brewery to mingle. If you’ve never participated in a Bike in Shapes event, it’s a perfect way to get out, meet people, and join the community! Stay tuned for the first official Bike in Shapes Bend shape!
Due to the smokey, low air quality, we are cancelling the bike ride . We are still planning to meet at Alesong at 12:30pm on Saturday for a beer. Alesong has both inside and outside seating. Sammitch food cart will be there as well. Message me if you need a ride.
We will try to do the following ride sometime in the future…
Cats. Solar Eclipses. Together?? Total-ly awesome. On Thursday, August 24th at 7pm, three days after our eyes turn to mush, let’s meet at Cold Fire Brewing and shape around the cat’s fir. Solar Eclipse Cat only comes around every 99 year. You don’t want to miss this! You may even want the t-shirt. :P

Nothing says summer like some old fashion kickball. This Thursday, we’ll ride in the shape of a choppy kickball and then…play kickball! We’ll leave from Coldfire Brewing at 7pm on Thursday, do a full loop, and circle back to somewhere along Skinner’s Butte Park to start our friendly kickball game.

May is Bike Month here in the beautiful valley, and Bike in Shapes will be marching 1×1 along the new Mill Race Trail in Springfield to complete this peanut butter-celery themed shape. Eugene folks, let’s meet at 7:00pm atop the Autzen Footbridge and head to Claim 52’s The Abbey at Sprout at 7:15pm to meet up with Springfield folks. From here, we’ll begin the clockwise shape and return to The Abbey around 8:00pm for a beer afterwards.
Travel back to your freshman dorm wall decoration–let’s revive 1978 National Lampoon classic set here in our little-old campus town. In Bike in Shapes’ first ever texted-based ride, let’s the stitch the infamous “COLLEGE” lettering in John Belushi’s icon sweatshirt. We’ll meet at the Bier Stein at 7pm on Thursday and finish at original Pegasus Pizza on campus (790 E. 14th). Toga wear permitted!
